New Years Kiting in Utah PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Tuesday, 06 January 2009
Epic conditions poured across Utah over the New Years week.  From late December into the first week of the year deep snow and plentiful wind affected most of Utah.  Snowkiters took advantage of the conditions and hit their favorite spots.

At Skyline, a couple dozen hungry kiters gathered from across the western states to ring in the New Year with wind. An impromptu party on the last day of the year brought everyone together at Brian & Heathers Mt. Pleasant home.  Beer, Tequila, Vodka, and of course Champagne helped ease the mood as we remembered and epic year and dreamt of a powerful new one.

At Strawberry, even more kiters spread out across the vast expanse to enjoy the terrain and fresh snow.  More new faces joined our community this week, and we shared sessions with new friends from across the region. Many of which had killer snow sessions for the first time, converting to the winter kite season.

Happy New Year to all, we hope everyone had as much fun as we did kicking out 08 and welcoming in 2009.
