These are the daily forecasts for the primary riding areas in Utah. These NOAA models are usually accurate for each day, and they show a 3-day trend for predicted weather including wind velocity and direction. Note the daily temperature and plan accordingly.

While Southerly is the normal flow, look for wind from any direction. A 10 mph plus forecast is pretty reliable for consistent winds.

Forecast for the Silver Creek area east of Hwy 40. Look for North or South winds in the 15 mph plus range.

Strawbs works on both northerly and southerly flows. A 15 mph forecast is a good indicator for consistent winds.

Southerly wind is the normal and preferred direction at Pow Mow. Look for 10 mph or more. North winds are ridable, but limit the terrain options.

Hogan Pass faces South-West, yet receives clean wind from the North and East also.

Lake effect Snow and Wind from the GSL can bring powered riding. Wind pours from the North & South, with steady wind starting around 10 mph.

Massive lake that often freezes over. Any wind will work here as long as the ice is thick!

Utah's southern most mountain riding. Southwest flows from Zion are the norm, with frontal winds bringing rides in every direction. Look for at least 15 mph.
